In their most recent attempt to obstruct transportation in what they claim is support for Palestinians in Gaza, Yemen’s Houthis claimed on Sunday that they had assaulted two civilian ships as well as an American destroyer in the Red and Arabian Seas.
The rebel organisation fired ballistic missiles against the US warship, naval missiles at a ship named the Captain Paris, and drones at a ship named the Happy Condor, according to a statement released by Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokeswoman. Whether any of the targets were struck was unclear.
