The Indian Ocean Strategy Research Center, in collaboration with the Wattala The Nest Youth Committee, cleaned the Wattala beach on 27-09-2025, in line with the International Coastal Cleanup Day. Approximately 4 tons of solid waste, such as plastic and polythene which had been discarded by humans, were removed from the beach.
